About Vicksburg Family Development Service
Since 1977, Vicksburg Family Development Service has served as a primary prevention, early intervention program whose purpose is to provide parents with the knowledge, skills, and support necessary to promote positive outcomes for their children and themselves. Begun as a program that focused on the importance of the first years of life, Vicksburg Family Development Service continues to serve first or second time parents and their children prenatal to age four through its early intervention program. In 1991 a mentoring component was added to serve girls, ages 10-18. A component for boys, Male Image, was added in 1994.
